The Hague judicial community paid tribute to Judge Antonio Cassese on 16 November 2011 at The Hague Academy of International Law. This celebration of his life's work and achievements included presentations covering five of the areas of international law which were the focus of his renowned passion and insight: international human rights law, international criminal law, international humanitarian law, terrorism and self-determination.
The event was filmed and can be viewed in full here as well as on the STL Youtube channel. On the occasion of the one year anniversary of Judge Cassese's death, the Journal of International Criminal Justice has published online the edited transcripts of the tribute.
After the event, members of the diplomatic and legal communities spoke about their memories of Antonio Cassese.
