Leave
Annual leave accrues at the rate of two and one half days per month, or 30 working days per year.
Health insurance
The STL has concluded a group medical and dental insurance contract with Vanbreda International in Antwerp which provides coverage to its staff members, their dependants and eligible family/household members, on certain conditions. Participation in the insurance scheme is, in principle, compulsory.
Pension
Staff members holding appointments for six months or longer become participants in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) on appointment. Staff members appointed for shorter periods become participants on completion of six months service without an interruption of more than 30 days.
