List of Counsel - Admission
The List of Counsel contains the names of lawyers who have been found to be competent to practice before the Special Tribunal. When a suspect or accused before the Tribunal cannot afford to pay for a lawyer, he may choose freely from this List.
Admission to the List is governed by a Panel of three lawyers. To find out more about the admission procedure, click here.
At this time, 123 persons have applied to the List.
37 have been interviewed. 28 have been admitted. 3 have been rejected and 6 applications are under review pending receipt of more information. The lawyers admitted to the List come from the following countries: Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
The Admission Panel continues the interview process. There is no deadline for applications.
